Printing to FileCabinet CS / File Drawer

Reports, forms, and other printable items can be printed to FileCabinet CS / File Drawer.

Note: If you are not licensed for and have not installed FileCabinet CS, the option to print to File Drawer is enabled by default. However, you can disable the option.

To send printed items to FileCabinet CS / File Drawer for storage, perform the following steps.

  1. Choose File > Print.
  2. In the Print dialog, select the items you want to print.
  3. Mark the FileCabinet CS / File Drawer checkbox.

    Notes

    • To print a document to both FileCabinet CS / File Drawer and your printer simultaneously, mark both the Printer checkbox and the FileCabinet CS / File Drawer checkbox, and then click the Print button.
    • If you are licensed for and have installed FileCabinet CS, the reports and/or forms will be saved in FileCabinet CS.
  4. If you firm has set up multiple FileCabinet CS / File Drawer data locations, verify that the correct data location appears in the FileCabinet CS / File Drawer field.
  5. Click the To Cabinet / To Drawer button at the bottom of the Print dialog.

    Note: If you selected to print to both FileCabinet CS / File Drawer and to your printer, click the Print button.

  6. The FileCabinet Document Names dialog opens and displays a list of the documents being sent to FileCabinet CS / File Drawer. If you are sending a document that is named the same as one already stored in FileCabinet CS / File Drawer, an X appears next to the document name. To avoid overwriting a document currently stored in FileCabinet CS / File Drawer, use this dialog to rename the document you are sending.
  7. Click OK to send the document to FileCabinet CS/ File Drawer, close the FileCabinet Document Names dialog, and return to the Asset List window.
