GoFileRoom uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 for secure communications. For more information, read User Bulletin 8571.
You'll need to make changes to a workstation's Windows Registry if it has systems that interact with GoFileRoom without the Client Add-In, including workstations with only the Upload Document Service installed.
You may also need to make these changes to the Registry on workstations where the Client Add-In has been installed with non-administrator permissions.
We recommend that you make a backup of the Registry before making any changes to it and that any changes are made by a qualified technician.
Update the Registry
- Enter Run in the Windows Search bar.
- Enter regedit, then select OK.
- If prompted to allow this program to make changes, select Yes.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319.
- Take the following steps if the SchUseStrongCrypto key is not present.
- Right-click anywhere on the right and select New then DWORD (32-bit) Value from the context menu.
- Enter SchUseStrongCrypto in place of New Value #1.
- Double-click the new SchUseStrongCrypto key and enter 1 in the Value data field.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319 and repeat step 5.
