Follow these steps to give a Digita NetClient user access to File Exchange folders or to remove a Digita NetClient user’s access to folders.
Note: See Digita NetClient groups for information about giving Digita NetClient users access to modules at the group level.
- In the Admin tab of the navigation pane, click the Users link in the Digita NetClient section.
Note: If you don’t see this link, you don’t have access to this area.
- In the Users list, enter any part of the user’s name or login in the Find field and click the user’s name. Digita NetFirm displays the user’s information on the right.
Tip: Delete the entry from the Find field to view the full list of users.
- In the Permissions section, click the Enable button for File Exchange.
Note: If the Digita NetClient user has access to File Exchange folders through group permissions, the rows for those folders are not available. To remove the user’s access to the folders, you must remove the user from the group or remove the group’s access to the folder.
The rest of the steps vary depending on the type of folder you want to enable or disable for the user.

Digita NetClient users can upload files to personal folders. Each Digita NetClient user can see only the files he uploaded.
You can give Digita NetStaff users access to Digita NetClient users’ personal File Exchange folders. Digita NetStaff users can view all files in any folder to which they have access.

Digita NetStaff users who have access to personal File Exchange folders through File Exchange permissions can view files in and upload files to personal File Exchange folders. To do this, choose the Digita NetClient user’s name from the File Exchange View field at the top of the File Exchange screen in the Digita NetStaff user portal.
You can also give Digita NetStaff users permission to view clients’ portals through Digita NetFirm administration.

When you allow Digita NetClient users to view shared folders, they see all files in the folders. You choose whether Digita NetClient users can also upload files to, delete files from, and delete subfolders from shared folders.
Digita NetStaff users who have access to shared File Exchange folders can upload files to and delete files from the folders.

Digita NetStaff users who have access to shared File Exchange folders through File Exchange permissions can view files in, upload files to, and delete files from shared File Exchange folders. To do this, choose the Digita NetClient user’s name from the File Exchange View field at the top of the File Exchange screen.
You can also give Digita NetStaff users permission to view clients’ portals as the user.

- Click the appropriate folder type to view the rest of the steps.
- With Personal selected in the Folder Types list, mark the Full checkbox for each folder that the user needs to access and clear the checkbox for each folder that the user does not need to access.
Tip: Enter any part of the folder name in the Find field to find a folder.
Notes
- Digita NetClient users can view files in, upload files to, delete folders from, and delete subfolders from personal folders to which you grant them access. As a result, only the checkboxes in the Full column are available.
- To create a folder from within this dialog, click the Add Folder button.
- Click Enter.
- In the Folder Types list, click Private.
- Mark the Full checkbox to give the user access to the Private folder or clear the checkbox to remove the user’s access to the Private folder.
- Click Enter.
- In the Folder Types list, click Shared.
- Mark the Read checkbox for each folder in which the user needs to view and print files. Mark the Full checkbox for each folder to which the user will also need to upload files, delete files, and delete subfolders.
Tip: Enter any part of the folder name in the Find field to locate a specific folder.
- Clear the Read and Full checkboxes for each folder that the user no longer needs to access.
- Click Enter.
- Once a File Exchange is turned off, all data within the File Exchange is terminated.
- Once a folder is deleted within a File Exchange, all data within the folder is deleted.
