Auto Increase dialog

Show expandable text

Use the Auto Increase dialog to copy data from the current data-entry field to subsequent fields in the same row and to change that value by an amount or a percentage.

To open the Auto Increase dialog, choose Edit > Auto Increase, or right-click and choose Auto Increase from the context menu.

Note: This function works with data-entry fields (which appear in light blue), but not with application-calculated fields (which appear in bold, dark blue, or bold green).

Fields & buttons

Use the fields in this group box to change an amount copied from another location before pasting the amount to a new location.

  • To change a value by a percentage, either enter a number in the % field or use the arrows to select the number. Note that you cannot use negative numbers or numbers greater than 100.
  • To change a value by a dollar amount, enter that amount in the $ field. Negative amounts are allowed.

Note: You can enter an amount in one or the other of these fields, but not both.

The options in this group box control how data is copied using the Auto Copy function.

  • Choose the Within Alternative option to automatically copy the contents of the selected field into all remaining fields in the same row within the same alternative.
  • Choose the Same Year option to automatically copy the contents of the selected field into the same year and same row of all remaining alternatives.

Note: Planner CS only copies the information (as described above) to the right of the selected row. For example, if you have a plan with five alternatives, and select a field in Alternative 3, using either command copies the selected information only to Alternatives 4 and 5.
