Increasing data amounts while copying

Show expandable text

To copy data from the current data-entry field to subsequent fields in the same row and change that value by an amount or percentage, perform the following steps.

  1. Click the data-entry field from which you would like to copy data.

Note: Planner CS copies data from the cursor position to the right.

  2. Choose Edit > Auto Increase. The Auto Increase dialog opens.
  3. Use the Change Value By group box to change the amount copied before pasting it to the new location.

    • To change a value by a percentage, either enter a number in the % field or use the arrows to select the number. Note that you cannot use negative numbers or numbers greater than 100.
    • To change a value by a dollar amount, enter that amount in the $ field.

Note: You can enter an amount in one of these fields, but not both.

  4. Use the options in the Auto Copy Type group box to control how data is copied using the Auto Copy function.

    • If you mark the Within Alternative option, Planner CS automatically copies the contents of the selected field into all remaining fields in the same row within the same alternative.
    • If you mark the Same Year option, Planner CS automatically copies the contents of the selected field into the same year and same row of all remaining alternatives.

    Notes

    • The Auto Increase feature is not available when the cursor is in the base year of a single base year plan. To use Auto Increase from the base year of a single base year plan, first toggle out of the base year plan view by choosing View > Single Base Year.
    • Planner CS copies the information as described for both options only to the right of the selected row. For example, If you have a plan with five alternatives, and select a field in Alternative 3, using either command copies the selected information only to Alternatives 4 and 5.
