Using the Watch Window designer to create, modify, or delete templates

Use this procedure to create, modify, or delete Watch Window templates.

  1. Choose Tools > Watch Window > Templates or click the Watch Window Template Watch Window Template button button to open the Watch Window dialog.
  2. Do one of the following:

    • To create a new template, click the Add button, enter a name in the Name field, and proceed to the next step.
    • To modify an existing template, highlight the name of the template you want to modify, click the Edit button, and proceed to the next step.
    • To delete an existing template, highlight the name of the template you want to delete, and click the Delete button. This procedure is complete.
  3. In the Module list, highlight the module you want to use. The module you select determines the button, tabs, and rows that will be available.
  4. In the Buttons / Tabs list, click the plus sign next to a button name and then highlight the name of a tab that contains the variables you want to include in the Watch Window template. Each variable represents a row in the data-entry window. The Buttons / Tabs list displays all buttons and tabs that are included in the module as they are listed in the main data-entry window.

    Note: The Business Activity tabs and fields are not available for the Watch Window.

  5. Highlight a variable you want to include in the Watch Window template and click the Select button. Selected variables will appear in the Selected Rows pane on the right.

    Tip: You can double-click a variable to move it to the opposite pane.

  6. Variables are displayed in the Watch Window in the order they are listed in the Selected Rows pane. To reorder the variables displayed in the Selected Rows pane, highlight a variable and click the Up or Down arrow buttons to move the variable to the desired location.
  7. Click the Enter button to save the Watch Window template.
  8. Click the Close button to close the Watch Window dialog.
