Password protecting plan data

Show expandable text

To restrict access to a plan, you can assign a password to it so that only those users who know the password can open the plan. Use this procedure to assign a password or to change an existing password.

You should keep a record of the password, as you will need to enter the password each time you open the plan. If you forget the password, contact CS Support.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • If you are creating a new plan, choose File > New Plan.
    • If you want to assign a password to an existing plan, open an existing plan, then choose File > Plan Information.
  2. From either the New Plan or Plan Information dialog, click the Set Password button to open the Password dialog.
  3. Do one of the following:

    • If changing an existing password, enter the current password in the Old field, then enter the new password in the New and Verify fields.
    • If you enter a new password, enter the password in the New field.

Note: Passwords are case-sensitive, can contain up to 20 characters, and can include both letters and numbers.

  4. Click OK to save the new password.
