Follow this procedure to restore and/or check in client plans, report sets, graphs, letter templates, custom reports, Watch Window templates, or report layouts.

Restoring a plan overwrites any existing plan with the same Plan ID.

  1. Choose File > Restore > From a Planner CS backup.
  2. In the Restore Backup From dialog, navigate to the backup location (CD drive, a location on your hard drive, or a location on your network), then click the Open button.
  3. In the Restore/Check In dialog, notice the tabs near the top of the dialog. Each tab represents different types of items that are available for backing up or checking out. Do one of the following:

    • To select one or more items that are listed within a single tab, click a tab, highlight an item in the left pane, and click the Select button.
    • To select all items that are listed within a single tab, click a tab and click the Select All button.
    • To select all items that are listed in all tabs, click the Global button.
  4. Perform the following steps to select items to be checked in.

    1. In the Check in by field, select the name of the preparer for whom the item(s) will be checked in.

      Notes

      • A preparer cannot check in an item that is checked out to another preparer. To check in an item, the preparer selected in the Check in by field must match the preparer listed for that item in the Checked Out By column.
      • An item name is displayed in blue in the Selected Items list if the item is checked out and the preparer listed in the Checked Out By column is the same preparer selected in Check in by field. An item name is displayed in red in the Selected Items list if the item is checked out and the preparer listed in the Checked Out By column is not the preparer selected in Check out by field.
    2. In the Selected Items list, mark the C/I checkbox next to the items to be checked in.
  5. Choose between Plan Data Path and Program Data Path as the restore path destination for the selected plan(s).

Note: A message may appear indicating that the chosen plan data path is inaccessible. In the event that a plan data path is inaccessible, the application will default to the program data path.

  6. Click Restore.
