To open this dialog and these tabs, choose Reports > Define Graphs and click the Bar Properties or Horizontal Properties tab.

Notes

  • To enable the fields in this dialog, highlight a graph in the list and click the Edit button, or click the Add button to add a new graph.
  • The Bar Properties tab is only available when the Bar graph is selected, and the Horizontal Bar Properties tab is only available when the Horiz. Bar graph is selected. Click the Graph Types button to select a different graph type.

Fields & buttons

Select a bar style to use for your graph.

Click this button to open the Border Color Editor dialog, in which you can modify how the area borders are displayed on the graph. You can select to display the border, change the width and color of the border, and select a border style.

Mark this checkbox to expand the margins of the graph so that all data is displayed in the preview.

Click this button to open the Pattern Color Editor dialog, in which you can select a pattern and a color for the bars of data on the graph. You may want to apply a pattern to make the area graph easier to read if you are printing on a non-color printer.

Mark this checkbox if you do not want to include a color in the graph's key for the selected graph variable.

Click this button to open the Color dialog, in which you can select a color to use for the bars of data on your graph.

To change the width of the bars, enter a percentage between zero and 100 percent.

Select one of the following options for your graph.

  • None - Displays largest bars in background and smallest bars in foreground.
  • Side - Displays a side view of the bars.
  • Stacked - Displays all bars on top of each other.
  • Stacked 100% - Displays each bar as a percentage of 100.
