Use the state tabs at the bottom of the Apportionment Information window to enter state-specific apportionment information. State tabs appear only if you have added states to the return and if additional apportionment information is required.

To enter state-specific apportionment information, click the appropriate state tab at the bottom of the Apportionment Information window.

Fields & buttons

General information group box

Enter 1 or leave blank to select the standard multi-factor apportionment method. Enter 2 to elect the manufacturer's modified apportionment method. Enter 3 to elect the retail company apportionment method. Enter 4 to elect the enterprise data center operation apportionment method.

Enter the beginning date of election if you use the Manufacturer's Modified Method.

Enter 1 or leave blank to indicate the average weekly wages are greater than industry wages. Enter 2 to indicate average weekly wage requirement has not been met.

Click this button to open the VEDP Certified Companies dialog to enter qualified Virginia localities amounts for Schedule 500AP.

Select the qualification year from the drop-down list. If this field is left blank, the application defaults to the corresponding year starting with 2018 being the 1st year.

Enter the certification number from Form VEDP.

Select from the drop-down list the appropriate option for the return. If you leave this field blank, the application marks the field for within and without Virginia when there is information in the main apportionment grid columns other than Virginia or if the alternate apportionment everywhere amounts are entered; or entirely within Virginia (in-state) if only Virginia amounts are entered in the main apportionment grid or alternate apportionment fields.

Use these fields when multi-factor or single sales methods are filed.

Enter amounts in these fields when using an alternate apportionment method.

Alternate apportionment group box

Use the fields in this group box to use alternate apportionment for this state. The information you enter in these fields takes precedence over any entries in the Apportionment spreadsheet for this state.

Enter 1 or 2 if the corporation qualifies for either exception. UltraTax CS marks the related checkbox on the form. Otherwise, UltraTax CS does not mark either of the checkboxes. Enter the number directly or select from the drop-down list.

Use these fields to complete apportionment for corporations who qualify as motor carriers. UltraTax CS transfers the amounts entered to Schedule 500A or 502A.

Use these fields to complete apportionment for corporations who qualify as financial corporations. UltraTax CS transfers the amounts entered to Schedule 500A or 502A.

Use these fields to complete apportionment for corporations who qualify as construction companies. UltraTax CS transfers the amounts entered to Schedule 500A or 502A.

Use these fields to complete apportionment for corporations who qualify as railway companies. UltraTax CS transfers the amounts entered to Schedule 500A or 502A.
