Question

How do I know if a client received data via the Family Transfer Utility and can I tell what type of data was transferred?

Answer

The following areas in UltraTax CS will help you keep track of the data that was transferred via the Family Transfer Utility.

  • Screen Family (General folder) — The Family Transfer Utility (FTU) Client Information section of this input screen contains information about the clients involved in a transfer and the type of transfer. 
  • Status events — UltraTax CS automatically logs status events any time you transfer data or undo a transfer via the utility.
  • Client IDs — The following input screens will display the specific client ID of any client(s) whose data was transferred via the utility. 
    • Screen Coverage (Health Care folder)
    • Screen 8615 (Taxes folder)
  • Family Transfer Report — This report prints with all clients whose returns were involved in a transfer.
