To generate Schedule PA-40X, first print preview the return before entering or changing any data. Next, on Screen PAAmend, in the Separate filings folder, mark the Transfer original information checkbox to transfer information from the originally filed Form PA-40 to Screen PAAmend. The information on Screen PAAmend is used to calculate Schedule PA-40X.
Notes
- For tax years 2012 and later, Schedule PA-40X can be filed electronically.
- An explanation of changes must be entered in the Amended Explanations statement dialog at the top of Screen PAAmend in order to calculate Schedule PA-40X.
- After marking the Transfer original information field on federal Screen Amend, a window opens that will allow you to transfer original information for any of the attached state returns.
