Entering email addresses in Data Mining

Follow these steps to enter email addresses in Data Mining.

  1. From the Data Mining window, choose Setup > Email Addresses.
  2. In the Email Addresses dialog, enter an email address for each applicable client.
  3. Click Done.

You must enter the client email addresses before you can send eSignature documents or email letters to clients who passed the most recent search. Enter the client email addresses by following the steps above.

Notes for 1040 clients

  • If you have not entered an email address in Screen Contact, you can enter the taxpayer and spouse email addresses in the Email Addresses dialog and the addresses transfer to the corresponding email address fields in the Screen Contact. Conversely, if you have not entered an email address in the Email Addresses dialog and you enter an email address in either in the Taxpayer email address or Spouse email address fields in Screen Contact, the address transfers to the Email Addresses dialog. In addition, if you enter an email address in UltraTax CS Setup > Client Communications dialog, the address transfers to the Email Addresses dialog.
  • Data mining letters can be sent to the taxpayer's email address, spouse's email address, or both.
  • To view and edit the taxpayer and spouse email address in the Client Communications dialog, select Tp: or Sp: from the drop-down list to the left of the Email Address column.
