New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

Use this dialog to enter apportionment data for city and other returns. UltraTax CS uses this information to complete the apportionment factor for income subject to apportionment. In general, business income is apportioned and non-business income is allocated.

To open this dialog, choose View > Apportionment with an 1120 return open. In the Apportionment Information window, click the appropriate state tab at the bottom of the window, and click the Cities and other returns button.

Note: You need to have a city or other return attached to this return to open this dialog.

Notes

  • You can only make entries in white fields in the Cities and other returns spreadsheet. The amounts for the everywhere fields on the city or other return form transfer from either the Everywhere / (Override) column or the state column in the Apportionment Information window, depending on the applicable law. Shaded fields are for components that are not used on the city's or other return's apportionment form.
  • Some fields in the Apportionment spreadsheet and state tabs have statement dialogs to enter detailed information for this factor's component. UltraTax CS uses the information you enter in the statement dialog's Everywhere column as the everywhere amount for that component. UltraTax CS ignores the amount in the Apportionment spreadsheet's Everywhere / (Override) column for that component in the Apportionment spreadsheet.
