New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

The menu bars at the top of the Apportionment Information window, the Cities and other returns dialog and the State Everywhere Force dialog provide drop-down menus from which you can choose commands for performing various apportionment data-entry tasks. The following table summarizes the commands available in these drop-down menus.

Menu Function
Apportionment

Turn on or off the Use Asset Detail option, view prior-year data, print reports, or exit the Apportionment Information window and return to the current input screen or form.

Note: In the Cities and other returns and State Everywhere Force dialogs, only the prior-year data and exit commands are available from the Apportionment menu.

Edit

Perform tasks related to apportionment data entry such as cutting, copying, and pasting cell information, editing a column note, and using the provided calculator. You can also delete overrides and open the State Everywhere Force dialog.

Note: In the Cities and other returns and State Everywhere Force dialogs, the Delete overrides and State Everywhere Force commands are not available in the Edit menu.

Movement

Turn on or off the Cursor Right option. If there is a checkmark next to the Cursor Right menu option, you can press TAB or ENTER to move your cursor to the field on the right of the current field. The absence of a checkmark to the left of the menu item indicates that this option is off, and the cursor moves down one field each time you press TAB or ENTER.

Note: This menu is not available in the Cities and other returns or State Everywhere Force dialogs.

Help

Open the Help & How-To Center to find answers to your UltraTax CS questions, and view current license information.

Note: This menu is not available in the Cities and other returns or State Everywhere Force dialog.

Tips

  • To open a menu without using the mouse, press ALT and the underlined letter in the menu name. For example, you can press ALT+A to open the Apportionment menu.
  • Once a menu is open, press the underlined letter in the command name to select a command. For example, when the Apportionment menu is open, press P to open the Print Reports dialog.
  • See Menus and toolbars in UltraTax CS for more information.
  • Many frequently used menu commands, such as Print Reports, have corresponding shortcut keys that allow you to quickly select the command without opening the menu first. For example, when the Apportionment menu is not open, press CTRL+P to open the Print Reports dialog. When available, shortcut keys are listed next to the commands in the menu.
