Use the PRP tab in CS Connect to download PRP codes. To open this tab:

  1. Choose Utilities > CS Connect.
  2. Set the Per Return Pricing: ($) Acquire PRP authorizations switch to Yes.

    Note: If the switch is grayed out, there are no clients available to queue for PRP retreival. To turn the switch on, you'll need to add clients to the PRP list first. Follow the steps in Client missing from PRP tab.

  3. Click the PRP tab.

Downloading a PRP code is called "retrieval". You use the PRP tab to select, or queue, clients for retrieval. When a client is in the queue, a PRP code will be retrieved for them on your next CS Connect call. On this tab, clients that need PRP codes are called "PRP Requests".

Fields & buttons

This pane lists the client PRP requests that are not queued. To add a client PRP request to the queue, highlight it and click the Select button. You can also click Select All to move all client PRP requests into the queue.

Tip: To sort the client listing by client ID, client name, product, or TIN, click the words in the title bar of the list pane.

This pane lists clients that are queued for retrieval. PRP codes will be retrieved for these clients on your next CS Connect call.

UltraTax CS automatically queues some clients. If a client fits any of these criteria, it's automatically queued:

  • The client is currently open by anyone at the firm.
  • A new PRP state has been added to the client.

    Note: If you use the Proforma States button in Help > Repair, all state returns from the prior year are added to all clients. Every state return added to a client with a TIN for the states you use PRP licenses for will be automatically selected.

  • A new PRP preparer block has been added to the client.

Tip: To sort the client listing by client ID, client name, product, or TIN, click the words in the title bar of the list pane.

Click this button to delete the highlighted PRP requests. Deleting a client from the PRP list does not permanently remove the client from the list. UltraTax CS adds the client back to the list automatically when you open the client, preview the client's return, or open the Client Properties dialog while the client is open.
