Per-Return Pricing (PRP) codes are part of the payment process for Per-Return Pricing. If you want to learn more about the licensing and billing for Per-Return Pricing, visit Per-Return Pricing licenses and billing.
Before you download PRP codes, you may need to:
- Download licenses (if you've recently updated them), or
- Activate Virtual Office CS or SaaS PRP licenses (if you're on Virtual Office CS or SaaS and need a PRP code for a state you've never prepared before).
Download a code
- Open UltraTax CS.
- If you haven't already, enter a TIN in the client. To do that, open the client and go to File > Client Properties.
- Select Utilities, then CS Connect.
- Switch the Per Return Pricing: ($) Acquire PRP authorizations option to Yes.
- Select the PRP tab.
- Select the client you need a PRP code for.
- If there are clients selected on the right that you do not want to download PRP codes for, remove them.
- Click Connect.
Re-downloading
You can re-download PRP codes for clients with no charge as long as the client TIN or return type has not changed. An example of a return type change is converting a 1065 to an 1120.
If you changed the TIN or return type and need to re-download a PRP code:
- In the client, go to File > Client Properties.
- Go to the Federal or state tab you downloaded a PRP code for. If there are multiple returns with PRP codes, go to each tab.
- Delete the code from the PRP code field on each tab.
- Download a new code.
- Request a refund for the original code by submitting a refund request form.
Refunds
If you need a refund for a PRP, fill out the PRP refund request form.
