Question

Why are certain fields skipped when I press the ENTER key while in tax data entry?

Answer

UltraTax CS automatically skips some fields based on the presence of certain data. This "smart data entry" functionality helps you move quickly through input screens. Note that you can also use the arrow keys to move the cursor to any field.

Note: If desired, you can set a user preference option to have the cursor visit fields that contain data from another source, such as proforma'd data. See Making the cursor visit fields with data displayed in blue for more information.
