Internship Program

Prepare for a Dynamic Future

An internship at Thomson Reuters can positively impact your career and life. Our paid internship programs provide a professional experience for students, individuals new to the professional workplace, and those looking for a fresh career change. We offer internships in our Product Support, Sales, and Development departments.

As an intern, you'll be working with the broadest software product line in the accounting profession. Our professional, experienced team promotes a forward-thinking approach that embraces new technology. Your training will give you a background in Thomson Reuters products, tax law, and broad coverage of applicable network and computer operating systems used in public accounting firms.

Consider an internship in one of three departments:

Product Support

Our customers will rely on you for answers to questions ranging from simple software installation queries to complicated tax calculations and theory. You'll also be exposed to the business practices of thousands of CPA firms nationwide, and acquire skills that will help you transition into the workforce in any number of career fields.

Sales

You'll learn about our innovative product line and how our solutions are used in professional accounting firms. During this all-inclusive learning experience, you'll participate in sales meetings and product instruction and sales training, and will also have the opportunity to sell training to existing customers—gaining first-hand experience with the selling process, including problem solving and needs analysis to ensure buyers select the best tools and services for their firms.

Accounting Development

The Analyst Internship (for Accounting or AIS majors) trains you on our full line of accounting products. You’ll work closely with software developers and analysts to ensure proper functionality of the software, and will be exposed to business practices of CPA firms as you acquire skills to help you transition into the workforce in any number of career fields. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive product testing of the software to evaluate functionality and usability
  • Test and verify product compliance with internal functional and design specifications
  • Review technical documentation for accuracy
  • Provide feedback to the team regarding product issues

The Programmer Internship provides you with experience using Microsoft Visual Studio (C++ and potentially C#) and other tools and software, as well as working collaboratively with product analysts to determine and meet functional requirements. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Code software to meet design specifications
  • Perform issue verification
  • Test software code prior to production release

Hundreds of professionals (and counting) have interned at Thomson Reuters, and we've offered full-time positions to several of those eligible. Internships are offered several times a year, depending on your area of interest. If you'd like to be considered for an Internship at Thomson Reuters, please submit your resume to either your college's internship coordinator or to us directly on this website.
