Use this dialog to add, edit, or delete for the selected drawer.
You can use Image groups to consolidate related image files.
For example, if you scan multiple related documents into FileCabinet CS, you can organize them within a single image group for easy access.
Use the Image Groups dialog to add, delete, and re-arrange images in a group.
You can store image groups in folders along with standard documents.
Images in image groups cannot appear individually within other folders in same drawer. When you store an image in an image group, it is removed from other folders in the same drawer.
To open this dialog, choose Image > Image Groups.
Fields & buttons
Image group
Select from this drop-down list the ID for the drawer that contains the image group you want to view or modify. Select <<Select multiple drawers>> from this field to open a dialog in which you can select multiple drawers.
Enter the name for a new image group in this field, or select an existing image group.
Note: The drop-down list is divided into two sections beneath the ‹New Image Group› menu item. The first section contains the names of existing image groups for the selected drawer. The second section contains all names saved to the custom list for the current data location.
Click this option to append images to the image group you selected in the Image Group field.
Notes
- This option is available only when multiple drawers are selected in the Drawer ID field.
- If the selected drawers do not contain an image group that matches the text entered in the Image Group field, FileCabinet CS will create a new image group.
Click this option to create an image group in the selected drawers, even if one of the selected drawers contains an image group with the same name.

- This option is available only when multiple drawers are selected in the Drawer ID field.
- If one of the selected drawers contains an image group with the same name as the image group you are adding, FileCabinet CS adds "(Copy 2)" to the new image group name.
Click this button to open the Eliminate Group dialog, where you can move all images from the image group and delete the group, or you can choose to delete the current image group and all of its images.
Mark the checkbox for each folder that should contain a copy of the image group.
Note: Folders used in the current drawer appear at the top of the folder list, followed by a separator line, and then followed by the list of remaining folders (those not in use in the drawer).
Mark this checkbox to transfer the image group for source-document processing.
Keywords for searching and annotation
Enter a description of the image group in this field.
Choose how the description you entered will be used.
- Keywords for searching: FileCabinet CS uses this description when you perform searches.
- Keywords and all pages text annotation: FileCabinet CS includes the description in searches and adds the description as a text annotation on all pages of the image group.
- Keywords and first page text annotation: FileCabinet CS includes the description in searches and adds the description as a text annotation on only the first page of an image group.
Image group contents
FileCabinet CS lists the images you selected to add to the image group in this pane.
- Click the button to sort images in ascending order.
- Click the button to sort images in the order of the default naming buttons. This button is available only if the selected images were named using the default naming buttons.
- Click the button to sort images in the order specified in the System Configuration > Source Document Processing (OCR) tab.
Click the button to delete images that you selected in the Image names list.
Click the button to separate the selected image from its subgroup.
Click the button to group the selected images together.
Note: This button is enabled only when multiple images are selected.
Click the button to open the Reassign Image dialog, where you can choose options for reassigning the selected image to another image group or drawer.
The name of the image that is selected in the Image names list appears in this field. To change the name of the selected image, update the text in this field or enter a new name. You can also change image names using the default naming buttons beneath this field.
When this checkbox is marked, a large preview window opens for each page you click in the Image group contents pane. You can close the large preview window by clicking the Close button at the lower left of the preview window. Unmark this checkbox to disable the large preview.
Shows the image selected in the image names list. You can use the to view magnified areas of the selected image.
When you position the cursor over the Image preview pane in the Image Groups or Copy dialogs, the cursor becomes a magnifying glass and a magnified image area appears. You can move the zoom area vertically and horizontally with the mouse to view magnified segments of the selected image. This is useful for viewing small text in a scanned document.
Click this button to rotate all images in the current group 90 degrees to the left.
Click this button to rotate the images selected in the Image names list 90 degrees to the left.
