Per-Return Pricing licenses and billing

Show expandable text

Per-Return Pricing (PRP) is a licensing option for UltraTax CS. With a PRP License, you pay a fee for each return you prepare that is not covered by an unlimited license.

How does it work?

First, get a PRP license

You need a PRP license for any return types not covered by an unlimited license. Call Customer Support to discuss licenses. Dial 800.968.0600, press option 2 for Customer Support, then option 1.

Second, add or check your payment method

You will need to designate a method of payment for your PRPs.

Next, get a PRP code

Before you can view, print or file a return in UltraTax CS, you need a PRP code. You download PRP codes through your UltraTax CS application. You can get codes at any time for as many or as few returns as you want.

Billing information

Every month we'll total the number of PRP codes you retrieved and charge your method of payment on file. You can see a list of your transactions on the Current Year Account Details report. For help with your invoice, see Billing cycles and invoices

How much does it cost?

See the current tax year prices. You can also get to this list in UltraTax CS under Utilities > CS Connect > Fee Schedule button.

PRP/ELF reports

The following PRP and Electronic Filing reports are available in your My Account page, under My Orders & Payments:

  • Current Year Account Details: All PRP, ELF and SDP/OCR transactions for the current tax year.
  • Current Year Account Summary: Total fees for each billing period and the current balance for the current tax year.
  • Prior Year Account Details: All PRP, ELF and SDP/OCR transactions for the prior tax year.
  • Prior Year Account Summary: Total fees for each billing period and the end balance for the prior tax year.
  • Breakeven Report: The summary of how many of each type of return you prepared on a PRP basis during the prior tax season. This is used to help you with determining if you will need an unlimited license for any type of entity.
  • Custom Reports: Reporting by billing period for the current tax year.
  • eSignature Report: All successful eSignatures processed during the current tax year.

Refunds

If you need a refund on a code, use the PRP code refund request form. Before you complete your request, you may want to look at the Current Year Account Details report to see the full list of PRP codes you have retrieved.
