Setting up file locations

To specify data locations for certain types of files and for integration with other applications (including other CS Professional Suite applications), follow these steps.

  1. Choose Setup > File Locations.
  2. In the File Locations dialog, click the appropriate tab:
    • CS Professional Suite tab. For data integration with other CS Professional Suite software.
    • File Creation tab. To specify the Save location of certain types of files created for electronic transfer, including files for Direct deposit/ACH; Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS); Impound reconciliation adjustments; Electronic/Internet/Magnetic transfers; New hire reporting; Payroll journal entries; Positive Pay; and SSN verification.
    • Import Data tab. For client data to be imported from general data files, QuickBooks files, and spreadsheet files.
    • Export Data tab. For client data files to be exported to non-CS Professional Suite tax applications (Lacerte, ProSystem fx, or ProSeries).
  3. Specify the appropriate data location for each field, or click the Browse button to navigate to the appropriate location.

    CSA client: X:\WinCSI\CSAData

    CSA global: X:\WinCSI\CSASys

    FileCabinet: X:\WinCSI\FCabData

    Practice: X:\WinCSI\Practice CS Data

    UltraTax: X:\WinCSI\UTYYData (where YY represents the year of UltraTax CS)

    (Where X represents the drive where Accounting CS is installed.)

  4. Click OK to save your settings and close the File Locations dialog.
