Form processing tips

Form RT-6. You can transmit Form RT-6 electronically using either the agent method or individual employer method. To file as an agent with the state of Florida, your firm must meet certain criteria. For more information about filing by either method, see Enrolling clients for Florida electronic filing.

Note: There is a per-return transmission cost for electronically filing federal 94x forms; enrollment files do not accrue a fee. There is no additional transmission cost for electronically filing state forms. For more information, see Common questions about FSET

Forms RT-6, RT-6A and RT-6NF

Enrollment is required via the application by choosing Actions > Enroll > Florida Electronic Filing. For details, see the Enrolling clients for Florida electronic filing.

File format - FSET

Note: Enter the Florida Agent number in the Transmission Information dialog, accessed from the Actions > Process Electronic Forms screen.

State ID formats

Unemployment ID: You can use one of the following formats.

  • 7 digits formatted as #######
  • 8 digits formatted as #######-#. When you use 8 digits, the last digit must be a valid check digit (Example: 1234567).

Withholding ID: No state income tax
