Like other dashboards in the application, the Firm Dashboard can be customized for each staff member to display important information on a single screen via portlets, such as processing notifications, staff availability, and other information that is relevant for multiple clients or on the firm level.

To open the Firm Dashboard, choose View > Firm Dashboard.

Available portlets

Portlets that are available in the Select Portlets dialog vary slightly based on the dashboard that is currently open in the application. The following portlets are available for selection in the Firm Dashboard.

Portlet name Function
Accounting CS Ideas Community

Displays the Ideas Community login page that enables a registered user to participate in the community forum in which you can share ideas with other users and provide feedback and suggestions to the Thomson Reuters development team.

Accounting CS Library

Displays a list of custom reports, financial statements, and letters that you can preview and print or import directly into the Report Designer and Print Reports screen.


Displays the Thomson Reuters Checkpoint web page.

Client Access Processing Notifications

Displays processing notifications for your firm's clients using Client Access, using filters similar to other screens within the application.

Complete Payroll Output Monitor

Displays the completion status of payrolls that are run using the Complete Payroll Output option.

CS Home Page

Displays the Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite web page.

Engagement Binder Status

Displays a report listing all of the clients with the Workpapers service enabled, the binders that have created, the status of the binder, and dates associated with each binder.

Help & How-To

Displays the Help & How-To Center for the application.

Internet Filing

Displays a list of links to payroll tax form filing web pages, such as the American Payroll Association State and the Social Security Business Services Online.


Displays alerts and update notifications for the application.

Payroll Form and Filing Information

Displays information about the available payroll forms in the application, filing methods, and other payroll tax form related information.

Payroll Tracking

Displays information to track the status of payroll runs in real time, to manually enter data related to any payroll run, and to create management reports on completed payroll runs.


  • You can customize this portlet on Setup > Firm Information > Firm > Payroll Tracking tab.
  • You can filter by the status of the payroll so you can quickly see which payrolls are not completed by using the filter fields in the top right corner of the portlet.

Displays the Checkpoint PPC product web page.


Displays a list of quick links to available resources, such as Support, the Help & How-To Center, and the IRS home page.


By default, the application displays a blank portlet where you can add documents as short cut links available for all of your staff members. Right-click a document and choose Add.

Source Document Processing Status

Displays a list of all of the clients that have active or pending Source Document Processing documents. The portlet displays the processing status of the source documents, and the dates/times the documents were submitted and completed. You can also use the Transmit/Retrieve All button to transmit and receive source documents for all clients at the same time.

Staff Availability

Displays a list of all of the staff members set up within the application, their availability, and contact information. You can update your status by clicking the Update Availability button.

System Information

Compiles and displays system information about the machine on which the application is running.

Note: You can click the title of the System Information portlet to open a dialog from which you can easily send the information listed in the portlet to a Support Representative.
Tax & Accounting Blog

Displays a page on our website where you can view and comment on the latest blog postings related to industry news and trends.

Tax & Accounting Community

Displays a page on our website where Thomson Reuters customers can connect with other professionals in a secure environment.

Tax & Accounting Events

Displays a page on our website that contains a calendar for our upcoming tradeshows, webcasts, and customer events.

Tax & Accounting Newsletters

Displays a list of links to publications, such as the Solutions Magazine, Aumentum News, ONESOURCE Transfer Pricing newsletter, and much more.

Tax & Press Releases

(Replaces the CS Professional Suite – Thomson Reuters portlet.)

Displays a page on our website that contains the latest news and announcements of interest from Thomson Reuters’ various businesses and sectors.

Web Browser

Displays the default browser to your Home page within the dashboard that enables you to browse the internet or your network. You can also add custom portlets from within the Web Browser portlet.
