All accounts with prenote status display in the Direct Deposit Prenoting dialog, where you can view, modify, and process prenoting files.

Although the use of prenotes is supported with International ACH Transactions (IAT), the concept of prenotes is not supported in most countries around the world. In most cases, if you are using IAT you will not receive a response to your prenote.

Choose Actions > Process Direct Deposit and then click the Prenoting button.

Fields & buttons

By default, the Prenoting dialog displays all accounts with Prenote status. To display all accounts with Approved status as well, mark the Include accounts with Approved status checkbox. This is useful if you need to make changes to accounts that already have Approved status.

The grid displays information for all accounts with Prenote status (and with Approved status, if the Include accounts with Approved status checkbox is marked). If you intend to process an account, mark the checkbox to the left of the account. When you create a prenote file for an account, the prenote date displays in the Prenote Date column.

The Prenoting grid includes a Group by field that enables you to group items in the grid. For details, see Grouping items in data-entry grids.

Click the button to toggle between selecting all of the displayed accounts for processing and clearing all the checkboxes.

When any of the checkboxes are marked in the Prenoting grid, the Action field becomes active. Choose the action to perform on the selected accounts from the drop-down list. The options are as follows.

  • Create Prenotes. When this option is selected, clicking the Process button creates prenote files for all selected accounts.
  • Change to Approved. When this option is selected, clicking the Process button changes all selected accounts with Waiting or Prenote status to Approved status.
  • Change to Prenote. When this option is selected, clicking the Process button changes all selected accounts with Waiting or Approved status to Prenote status.
  • Change to Needs Authorization. When this option is selected, clicking the Process button changes all selected accounts to Needs Authorization status.
  • Change to Suspend. When this option is selected, clicking the Process button changes all selected accounts to Suspend status.

Clicking the Process button performs the action selected in the Action drop-down list on selected accounts.
