Staff members who have completed work on their assigned section of the engagement can choose Tasks > Send Documents in Engagement CS to create a transfer file that consists of workpapers and documents that have been assigned to them by the staff in charge of the master engagement. The transfer file is then copied to a designated folder on a shared network location or removable media to be received by the staff in charge working in the Master Client Data (MCD) or another staff member working in the Local Client Data (LCD).

Note: Due to the size of the transfer files, data cannot be checked in using a 3.5 inch floppy disk or any removable media that does not have a minimum of 5MB of available space.

  1. Choose Tasks > Send Documents.
  2. In the Workpapers to Send tab of the Send Documents dialog select the engagement documents workpapers in the available tree to be sent to the MCD or another staff member in the LCD via a transfer file.
  3. You can use the Workpaper Assignments tab to reassign workpapers to other staff members in the field. (Only workpapers that are assigned to the current staff in the field can be reassigned and updated by other staff members in the field.)
  4. Enter the location where you wish to create the transfer file, or click the Browse button to navigate to the location.
  5. Click OK to make the files ready for retrieval by the staff in charge of the Master Client Data or other staff in the field working in the Local Client Data (LCD).

Note: The assigned engagement staff member(s) working with the Local Client Data (LCD) may also choose to synchronize with the Master Client Data at any time during the engagement process to keep the Office Master Data updated on a regular basis.
