Adding columns to the Trial Balance grid from the View Maintenance dialog

Use the Trial Balance View Maintenance dialog to customize the layout of the Trial Balance window. For example, you can use the View Maintenance dialog to add the workpaper reference column.

  1. With the Trial Balance window opened in CSA, choose Edit > View Maintenance or choose View Maintenance from the F3 or right-click context menu.
  2. In the Trial Balance CS View Maintenance dialog, click the Add button.
  3. Enter a description for the new view in the Description field.
  4. In the Columns Available list, highlight the columns that you want to include in the Trial Balance view, and click the Select button to move the selected columns to the Selected pane.
  5. Use the Move Up or Move Down buttons to rearrange the items in the Selected pane to reflect the order that you want them to appear in the Trial Balance grid. The top-to-bottom arrangement in the Selected pane appear in order from left to right in the Trial Balance grid.
  6. In the Period Ending field, select the period that you want to view in the Trial Balance from the F4 drop-down list.
  7. Click the Enter button, to save the view and return to Browse mode.
  8. Click Done to close the Trial Balance View Maintenance dialog.

Notes

  • The Subcode column is automatically selected when the Grouping Schedule column is selected to included in the Trial Balance grid.
  • By default, the Number, Description, and Type columns are included in all Trial Balance views.
  • The Workpaper Reference and Tickmarks column can be included in the following reports: Chart of Accounts, Grouping Schedule, Trial Balance, Trial Balance Worksheet, and Trial Balance Grid report.
