Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

Use the Trial Balance window to review and edit account information. You can customize the view in this window using the Trial Balance View Maintenance dialog, which allows you to add, edit, or delete customized views. A special feature of the Trial Balance window is the split screen capability that allows you to view the Trial Balance grid and Adjusting Journal Entry grid simultaneously in the same window.

Note: You may choose Setup > Chart of Accounts to add, delete, or renumber a range of accounts. For further information, see Chart of Accounts [Setup menu]

Choose Trial Balance from the Tasks menu or click the Trial Balance icon on the shortcut bar.

For a Trial Balance CS plus GL client, you must enter unadjusted balances either in the Chart of Accounts or through a journal entry.

Notes
  • If your client is not an annual client, you cannot edit the unadjusted balances in the Trial Balance window. (For a non-GL client processed in both Trial Balance CS and Engagement CS, editing of unadjusted balances in the Trial Balance grid is no longer limited to annual clients.)
  • The program saves changes you make to column widths for an individual client in both the list pane and the data-entry grids of the Tasks > Adjusting Journal Entries window. To undo any changes to column widths, click the Restore Default button on the Columns tab of the Adjusting Journal Entries Options dialog.
  • Schedule M-3 tax code assignment
