Recording an audio annotation

Note: Verify that a microphone or other audio source is connected to your computer prior to recording an annotation.

  1. Open the document to be annotated.
  2. Choose Edit > Annotations > Audio, or right-click the document within the Watch window and choose Audio from the context menu.
  3. Click a location in the document where you want the audio annotation icon to appear.
  4. If necessary, change the audio properties
    1. In the Audio recorder dialog, choose File > Properties and change the audio annotation properties as necessary.
    2. Click OK.
  5. In the Audio recorder dialog, click the Record button and speak into the microphone.
  6. Click the Stop button when finished.

Notes

  • The default length for a recording is 120 seconds, but you can record for a longer period of time. The Length display is adjusted accordingly.
  • When you send a document with an audio annotation to a file or email recipient, the PDF includes a button that a reader can click to play the annotation.
  • Audio annotations do not appear on printed documents or on documents transmitted to NetClient CS.
