New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

You can electronically file FinCEN Form 114, Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) (formerly Form TD F 90-22.1) using the BSA E-Filing Home Page rather than using UltraTax CS.

Note: To file FinCEN Form 114 for years prior to 2013, you must use the BSA E-Filing System. For tax year 2013 and future years, FinCEN Form 114 can be electronically filed using the applicable year of UltraTax CS.

To file the form using the BSA E-Filing website, do the following:

  1. Mark the Account owner is filing FinCEN Form 114 field (or the Authorized representative is separately filing FinCEN Form 114 field for 1065 returns) in Screen 114 to suppress creation of the electronic file in UltraTax CS.
  2. Access the FinCEN web page at http://fincen.gov/forms/bsa_forms/fbar.html and determine if you are filing as an individual or as an institution.
  3. If you are filing as an individual, access the BSA E-Filing System Home Page at http://bsaefiling.fincen.treas.gov/main.html, and click the File an Individual FBAR link.
