Use the 1099 Properties tab of the Vendors screen to specify 1099 forms and box numbers to which amounts are to be accumulated for reporting. This tab is available in the Vendors screen only if the currently selected vendor has been designated as a 1099 recipient in the Main tab.

The form/box number combinations you set up here will then be made available for selection in the Distributions tabs of the Vendors screen and the Enter Transactions screen and in all transaction entry screens.

Choose Setup > Vendors and then click the 1099 Properties tab.

Fields & buttons

Select the forms and box numbers as appropriate for the client. To delete a selection in an individual field, use the Backspace or Delete key on your keyboard. To delete an entire row, use the Delete Delete button button.

  • Form Selection. All supported 1099 forms are available in the drop-down list. Select the appropriate 1099 form from the drop-down list.
  • Box > Description (1). All box numbers relating to the selected 1099 form are available for selection, omitting any box selected on the same row for the second Box field. From the drop-down list, select the box number for which to track transaction totals. The description for the selected box number automatically displays in the Description column.
  • Box > Description (2). All box numbers relating to the selected 1099 form are available for selection, omitting any box selected on the same row for the first Box field. From the drop-down list, select the box number for which to track transaction totals. The description for the selected box number automatically displays in the Description column.
  • Default. Mark this checkbox to indicate that the 1099 and box selection is the default to be used for this vendor's transactions. It is not necessary to mark this checkbox, but only one can be marked at a given time - if you mark a second checkbox, the first is unmarked automatically.
  • One Form Per Transaction. Marking this checkbox indicates that each transaction will require a separate 1099 filing for the selected form. When this checkbox is marked, the One form per transaction checkbox will be marked by default in the Form 1099 Details dialog (available from the Enter Transactions screen).
  • Always Print Form. Mark this checkbox if you want to print the selected 1099 form even if it exceeds printing, client, or transactional override thresholds and even if it contains zero amounts.

Note: The checkbox applies to any consolidated 1099 form (and all boxes on the form) for which it is marked. If a vendor is set up to use multiple 1099 form/box number combinations for the same 1099 form, all information will print if this checkbox is marked on any of the 1099 items. However, if the One Form Per Transaction checkbox is also marked, then the Always Print Form checkbox will affect the transactions using that specific form/box number combination.

  • Navigation and Delete buttons. You can use the Delete Delete button button and the Up Up arrow button and Down Down arrow button buttons to delete or move rows in the grid.
