Setting up firm preferences is one of the prerequisites to getting started in the application. The steps outlined in the Getting started with Accounting CS topic will assist you in optimizing your workflow within the application.
Select preferences for each of the following areas in the application by marking checkboxes and selecting various options that are most appropriate for your business needs in the Preferences tab of the Setup > Firm Information > Firm screen.
- Security (permissions for staff and groups)
- Data Entry Confirmation (prompts to require re-entry of critical data for accuracy)
- Employee requirements (prompts to require the entry of certain data prior to saving employee records)
- Transaction Entry (data entry methods)
- Payroll Tax Liabilities (due date for payroll tax liabilities)
- Event tracking (record of activities in the application)
- Data sharing (data sharing updates)
- Export W-2s (W-2 information for export to another application)
- Payroll tax forms (tax form processing)
- Practice CS (invoices for export to Practice CS)
- FileCabinet CS (options for integration with FileCabinet CS)
- Workpapers (options for source document processing and PDF documents)
