After July 12, 2022, Microsoft will no longer support SQL Server 2012 or earlier. Therefore, as of the v.2022.2.0 Accounting CS release, scheduled for late June 2022, your firm must have SQL Server 2014 or higher installed on the servers that run Accounting CS. See Discontinued support for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 for details and steps you can take to continue using Accounting CS without interruption.
Note: This change does not affect firms using Accounting CS on Virtual Office or Software as a Service (SaaS).
Accounting
- We have updated the tax codes that are available for selection in the Setup > Chart of Accounts screen and the Actions > Enter Trial Balance screen for integration with the 2021 versions of UltraTax CS and GoSystem Tax RS.
Layout Designer
- We have updated the 1099-NEC Copy A and Copy 1 layouts to use the full version of the recipient EIN variable instead of the masked version of the variable.
Note: If your firm has modified the predefined version of a layout, Accounting CS will not overwrite your existing layout with an updated version. If this is the case, you will need to make the necessary changes to your customized layout manually, or you will need to restore the latest predefined version using the Layout Designer. To do the latter, select the layout from the Layouts list pane in the Layout Designer and then choose File > Restore Default.
General - Payroll
- We have updated the WorkforceHUB integration to allow the import of employees who use the new 2022 Colorado Form W-4.
- Washington. State Governor Jay Inslee, together with Senate Majority Leader Andy Billig and House Speaker Laurie Jinkins, announced the delay of the Washington Cares Fund premium assessment that was scheduled to begin on January 1, 2022. Read their official statement here.
The announcement strongly encouraged employers to not collect premiums from employees while they pass new legislation. Employers will not be subject to penalties and interest for not withholding fees from employees' wages during this transition. For more information, see Employer Information & Responsibilities - WA Cares Long Term Care Fund.
To turn off the Washington LTI tax calculation, mark the Wage Exempt checkbox for Washington LTI in the Taxes section in the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Clients screen. For more information, see Washington FLI and LTI calculations.
