On July 12, 2022, Microsoft ended support for SQL Server 2012 and earlier. Therefore, as of the v.2022.2.0 Accounting CS release, your firm should have SQL Server 2014 or higher installed on the servers that run Accounting CS. See Discontinued support for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 for details and steps you can take to continue using Accounting CS without interruption.

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing

In addition to any changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.

• We have removed the ability to create and submit ACH reversal files in the Manage Files dialog of the Actions > Process Direct Deposit screen when ACH is processed by Kotapay. Details

  To help protect your company and your clients, effective November 17, 2022, Kotapay will no longer accept reversal ACH files. The Reversals/Adjustments Form must be submitted in place of the reversal ACH files. This will help eliminate any reversals sent in error from Accounting CS. To access the form, log in at www.kotapay.com and go to Other Services > Online Reversals/Adjustments Form.

Payroll compliance

• Maine. We have updated the application to accept the new 8-digit Withholding ID (formatted as ######## or ####-####) that is being issued by Maine Revenue Services.

• The State-specific payroll tax form information article provides information on state payroll tax forms, processing tips, due dates, filing methods, agency information, tax payment details, state ID formats, e-filing notes, new hire reporting requirements, and more.
