After July 9, 2019, Microsoft will no longer support SQL Server 2008 R2 or earlier. Therefore, as of this v.2019.2.0 Accounting CS release, your firm must have SQL Server 2012 or higher installed on the servers that run Accounting CS to retrieve any application updates beyond this v.2019.2.0 release. For more information, see How to handle the end of SQL 2008 in Accounting CS.
Notes
- This change does not affect firms using Accounting CS via Virtual Office or Software as a Service (SaaS).
- We are providing a number of reminders and alerts within the application for firms who have not yet upgraded to SQL Server 2012 or higher. Details
In January 2020, Microsoft will end support for Windows 7. Because Thomson Reuters cannot support customers using our applications on unsupported operating systems, starting on January 14, 2020, Accounting CS will no longer be supported on Windows 7. We strongly recommend that you upgrade your workstations to a supported operating system soon. For more information, see End of Support for Windows 7.
General
- We now use black font color for the text labels of non-editable or disabled fields, rather than gray font color. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2669). Details
- Entering a date with an invalid year into any date field and then leaving that field now causes the application to revert the date field to its prior value. Details
Accounting
- We have updated the Actions > View Account Activity dialog. Details
- We have added Type to the dropdown list in the Condition section of the Rules dialog in the Bank Feeds portlet on the Bank Feeds Dashboard.
Accounts Payable
- You can now sort data by multiple columns in the Rapid tab of the Actions > Manage Payments screen and the Setup > Payable Templates screen. Details
Accounts Receivable
- You can now sort data by multiple columns in the Actions > Apply Customer Payments screen, and in the Rapid tab of the Actions > Manage Customer Payments screen and the Setup > Invoice Templates screen. Details
Client Access
- We have added the Prompt to confirm Client Access selections in the Client Staff screen checkbox in the Preferences tab of the Setup > Firm Information > Firm screen.
Report Designer
- We have added the following variables to the Client > Client Services section of the variable tree.

General - Payroll
- We have added the ability to generate liabilities for “Other” miscellaneous state taxes that do not fall into the categories of state withholding, SUI, or SDI on historical checks. Details
Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing
In addition to any changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.
- We have made the following changes to the WorkforceHUB integration.
- We have addressed an issue that, in certain circumstances, prevented employee direct deposit details from importing into Accounting CS from WorkforceHUB. Details
- We have addressed an issue that, in certain circumstances, prevented new hire employees from importing into Accounting CS from WorkforceHUB. Details
- We have enhanced security for our integration with SwipeClock TimeWorks Plus. Details

Payroll compliance
- We have removed the ability to transmit 94x Client PIN enrollment files via the Actions > Enroll > 94X Client PIN screen. For more information, see End of 94x client PIN enrollment and filing.
- Colorado (Aurora). We have added the ability to file Form COA STM 0101 electronically via FSET. For more information, refer to the E-filing notes section of the Colorado payroll tax form information article.
- Missouri. The State of Missouri has updated the state withholding fields on their W-4 form. To accommodate these changes, we have updated fields in the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Employees screen for Missouri. Details
- Oregon. We have added the ability to file Form STT-1 electronically via FSET. For more information, refer to the E-filing notes section of the Oregon payroll tax information article.
- Utah. The Utah Unemployment Compensation Fund now requires all employers to file Forms 33H and 33HA electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of the forms. Therefore, we have removed the Paper filing method for the forms and added the Web fill-in method. You can also file the forms using the Internet filing method.

Accounting CS includes two interactive tools that provide valuable payroll tax information.
- The Payroll Form and Filing Information portlet provides information on federal, state, and certain local tax agents in the Home Dashboard or Firm Dashboard.
- The State-specific payroll tax form information article provides information on state payroll tax forms, processing tips, due dates, filing methods, agency information, tax payment details, state ID formats, e-filing notes, new hire reporting requirements, and more.
