Disaster Recovery Assistance

At Thomson Reuters, we take every precaution to ensure your data is safe at all times. With that in mind, we want to make sure you are aware of two ways you can ensure business continuance in any situation.

First, we recommend that you take the steps to protect your data through regular backups as noted in the Disaster Preparation section below.

Second, we would like you to know that we are here to help you get up and running again quickly in the event that your business is impacted by a disaster. We offer a variety of free services through our Disaster Recovery Assistance program outlined below.

Disaster Preparation

We strongly encourage you to back up the data from all of your CS Professional Suite applications using the backup feature within the programs. The backup options can be accessed from the File | Backup menu in each application.

This means you'll want to back up all clients, system data (CS Professional Suite Accounting and Accounting CS), documents (UltraTax CS), layouts (Client Bookkeeping Solution - CBS), global data (CBS), custom methods (Fixed Assets CS), custom reports (Fixed Assets CS), practice data (Practice CS), and any Microsoft Office Database location and system settings (FileCabinet CS) files.

For detailed or application specific instructions on using backup in each application please read the online help. Back up the data to a CD, DVD, or external hard drive device and store this data in a secure, waterproof environment. Backing up your data will ensure that you can get up and running quickly should unforeseen circumstances arise, such as hard drive failure.

Disaster Recovery Assistance

If a hurricane or other disaster has placed your firm in a position where your physical location is no longer operational, we offer the following disaster recovery assistance:

  • Free Virtual Office CS setup for your firm for up to 60 days. As you may know, our Virtual Office CS service is an Application Service Provider (ASP) form of delivery, where all of your applications and data are hosted from our secure data centers, and can be accessed from virtually any Internet-ready location. Both Thomson Reuters and Microsoft® Office products (including Microsoft Exchange® functionality) are supported in this environment.
  • Free replacement software.
  • Uninterrupted service for customers who have license agreements that expire before they can resume normal business functions.

We sincerely hope that you will not need this assistance, but we want you to know that the help is available. If you require any of these services, or you have other needs as a result of a disaster, please call us at 800.968.8900 and indicate that you require disaster recovery assistance.
